What happened
During an approach to Ponoka-Labrie Field, the pilot encountered mechanical issues involving the aircraft's autopilot system. In response to these technical difficulties, the decision was made to execute a go-around.
While the aircraft was maneuvering within the circuit pattern, the autopilot failed to disengage as intended. Due to this malfunction, the pilot was forced to attempt an emergency landing in a field. The aircraft type underwent a belly landing and subsequently struck trees. The force of the impact caused the tail section of the plane to separate from the fuselage before the aircraft finally came to a stop.
Findings
