What happened
On the morning of the accident, a twin-engine aircraft departed from Příbram Airport Runway 06 at 07:05 local time. The flight was operating as a charter service destined for Gdansk, carrying a crew of one pilot and one passenger.
While the aircraft was cruising at an altitude of 14,100 feet, approximately 30 minutes after departure, the pilot received clearance to climb to FL180. During this phase of flight, the pilot issued an emergency declaration, reporting that both engines had failed. Following the loss of power, the aircraft began an uncontrolled descent.
The aircraft eventually struck a wooded area situated roughly 1.5 km northeast of Noviny pod Ralskem. The impact and subsequent post-crash fire resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were two fatalities among the occupants.
Findings
- The aircraft experienced a simultaneous failure of both engines during the cruise phase.
- The impact forces and subsequent fire caused the complete destruction of the airframe.
