What happened
During an approach to Allendorf-Eder Airport, the aircraft was operating in adverse weather conditions. While on approach, the captain elected to cancel the existing IFR flight plan. Following this decision, the crew initiated a go-around procedure.
During the execution of this maneuver, the aircraft's attitude changed significantly. The nose of the plane descended to an angle of 30 degrees, followed by a right-wing roll reaching 60 degrees. The aircraft subsequently impacted a wooded area. The accident resulted in two fatalities, as both pilots were killed in the crash.
Findings
Records indicate that although the captain made the decision to cancel the flight plan, the copilot was serving as the pilot in command at the time of the impact.
