On June 4, 2007, at approximately 15:57 CDT, a Cessna Citation 550, registered as N550BP, departed General Mitchell International Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The aircraft was being operated by Marlin Air under Part 135 regulations and was en route to Willow Run Airport near Ypsilanti, Michigan.
Shortly after takeoff, the aircraft impacted the surface of Lake Michigan. The accident resulted in six fatalities, including the two pilots and four passengers. The impact caused the total destruction of the aircraft.
