What happened
During a night flight originating from Roxas City and bound for Calapan, the aircraft experienced a mechanical issue while cruising at 8,500 feet. The left engine began experiencing intense vibrations, which led the crew to shut down the engine.
As the aircraft continued its descent toward Calapan, it reached an altitude of approximately 900 feet. During this phase of flight, the plane lost sufficient airspeed and entered a stall. The aircraft type impacted the ocean at a distance of roughly 200 meters from the shoreline. Among the occupants on board, seven individuals were successfully rescued, while one fatality was recorded involving the pilot.
Findings
Investigations into the accident indicate that the primary factor leading to the crash was an insufficient airspeed during the descent, which resulted in the aircraft stalling.
