What happened
During the final approach phase toward the Kilaguni Lodge Airstrip, the aircraft descended to an altitude that was too low. While maneuvering for landing, the plane made contact with trees, which led to a subsequent crash.
As a result of the impact, there were 8 fatalities among those on board. Emergency responders and rescue teams managed to locate and save the remaining 20 survivors from the wreckage.
Findings
- The aircraft was operating at an insufficient altitude during its approach to the airstrip.
