What happened

Following the completion of a reconnaissance flight over Antarctica, a four-engine aircraft was en route to return to Buenos Aires. As the flight prepared for its arrival at Mar del Dis Plata Airport, the crew began an approach under extremely poor meteorological conditions. During this phase of the flight, the airplane impacted a field situated approximately six kilometers from the runway threshold.

The impact resulted in a significant post-crash fire that completely destroyed the airframe. Despite the intensity of the flames, all 24 occupants managed to evacuate the wreckage safely without any reported fatalities or injuries.
