What happened
On a private visual flight rules (VFR) mission from Samedan Airport to Roskilde, a single-engine aircraft departed from Runway 03 at 1720LT. The flight was operated with one pilot and two passengers on board. After the initial departure, the aircraft maintained a straight-in climb for approximately two minutes.
As the plane reached the area over La Punt-Chamues-ch, the pilot attempted a left-hand turn intended to enter the Albula Valley. During this maneuver, the pilot lost control of the aircraft. The plane subsequently crashed in an area near residential houses, where the impact triggered a significant fire. The wreckage was located roughly 6 km northeast of Samedan Airport.
Findings
- The aircraft was totally destroyed by a post-crash fire.
- There were three fatalities among the occupants.
