What happened
During the final approach to Jacobkondre Airfield, a twin engine aircraft descended below a safe altitude. The flight path led the plane into a collision with trees, which subsequently caused the aircraft to crash in the vicinity of the Salamacca River. The wreckage was later located on a hill situated approximately 3 km away from the airfield.
Findings
- The aircraft was flying at an insufficient altitude during the approach phase.
- The impact with vegetation was a primary factor in the crash sequence.
- There were 10 fatalities among the occupants of the aircraft.
