What happened
On February 15, 2025, at 16:50 UTC, a Cessna T-188-C, registration LV-ZRT, was engaged in an agricultural aerial work operation in a rural area approximately 8.5 km north of Villa Huidobro, Córdoba. During the takeoff phase from a grass airstrip, the aircraft experienced a loss of control. The aircraft veered off the runway, traveling approximately 220 meters before coming to rest in an inverted position.
Despite the impact, the pilot survived the event. The aircraft sustained substantial damage during the excursion.
The investigation
The Argentine Transportation Safety Board (JST) conducted an investigation into the event, focusing on the sequence of the takeoff roll and the subsequent loss of control. The investigation examined the aircraft'-s technical condition, noting that the engine and propeller were within maintenance limits. The investigation also reviewed the environmental conditions, which were characterized by visual meteorological conditions (VMC), daylight, and calm winds (7 knots from 110 degrees).
