On January 14, 2022, an Aeroprakt-22, registration RA-0604A, was involved in an aviation incident in the vicinity of the Belokurikha settlement in the Altai Region. The pilot had arrived in the area the previous day and had filed a flight plan for sightseeing flights under visual flight rules (VFR) in class G airspace.
The flight was scheduled to take place between 03:00 and 07:00 UTC. At 10:00 on the day of the event, the pilot arrived at the Belokurikha airfield to pick up a passenger for the planned excursion.
During the descent phase while overflying the runway, the aircraft struck the ground at an extremely low altitude. There were no injuries or fatalities reported as a result of the collision.
Investigation details were based on pilot statements and witness interviews due to a lack of onboard monitoring equipment. The aircraft, RA-0604A, was operating in visual meteorological conditions at the time of the accident.
