Accident Details

On 4 September 2025, at approximately 07:40 local time, an experimental ultralight aircraft designated "Lun" with registration RA-0464A was involved in an accident during a ground run on a paved road in the settlement of Zimarovo. The aircraft had been assembled at the site by the owner and the pilot after being delivered in disassembled form on 26 August 2025. According to a lease agreement dated 1 September 2025, the owner (lessor) transferred the aircraft to the pilot (lessee) for operation.

Preparation for engine testing and taxi runs was conducted by the owner and the pilot on 3–4 September 2025. On the day of the accident, after engine start, warm-up, and a test run, the pilot taxied the aircraft from the assembly area onto an asphalt road to perform a high-speed run and check engine and systems functionality. Closed-circuit television footage recorded the aircraft becoming airborne during the run, followed by a collision with the ground.

As a result of the accident, the pilot sustained fatal injuries and the aircraft was destroyed. No fire occurred at the accident site. There were no injuries or damage to persons or property on the ground.

The investigation is ongoing. No probable cause has been stated by the authorities at this time.
