What happened
On January 16, 2010, a Boeing 737-524, registration VQ-BAC, was operating flight UTR 572 from Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo to Moscow Vnukovo. The aircraft departed Krasnoyarsk at 00:40 and completed a flight duration of 5 hours and 20 minutes. Upon arrival at Vnukovo, the weather conditions were within the operational limits required for the captain to perform the landing.
As the aircraft was exiting runway 24 and transitioning onto taxiway 13, the aircraft veered off the paved surface onto the unpaved ground on the left side of the taxiway. While traveling across the snow-covered terrain, the nose landing gear collapsed, causing the forward section of the fuselage to make contact with the ground.
There were no fatalities or injuries among the crew or passengers. All occupants were successfully evacuated from the scene by airport emergency services.
The investigation
Following the incident, an assessment of the aircraft's condition was conducted through February 12, 2010, in coordination with representatives from Boeing. The incident was officially classified as an aviation accident with no loss of life.
