On July 13, 2023, a Cessna 172G, registration RA-2018G, was conducting a training flight within the Novosibirsk (Tolmachovo) airspace. The flight was the final of ten scheduled operations for the day, with the pilot carrying two passengers. The planned route involved departing from the "City Airport" landing area, traveling to the Novosibirsk Reservoir, and returning to the same landing area.
Prior to departure, the pilot reviewed the weather forecast and performed an inspection of the aircraft. The aircraft's takeoff weight was approximately 2,000 lb, which was below the maximum allowable takeoff weight of 2,300 lb. The fuel load consisted of 33 liters of Avgas 100LL. No refueling had been performed prior to this flight leg.
At 13:23, the aircraft took off for the approximately 75 km route. During the flight, the aircraft entered a stall mode at a low altitude following a loss of airspeed. This led to an uncontrolled descent and a subsequent impact with trees and the ground in the area of the "City Airport" settlement.
There were no fatalities or injuries reported in the accident. The investigation into the event involving RA-2018G was conducted by the Interstate Aviation Committee.
