What happened
On April 18, 2020, a series of flight tests were conducted near the Kalinka settlement to evaluate the compliance of various experimental aircraft with established requirements. These tests were part of a certification process involving aircraft owned by Aviapatrul-DV and several private owners. The operations were being managed by the Tyumen Center for Certification of Civil Aviation Objects "Audit-Air."
On the morning of the incident, the pilot arrived at the Kalinka site to perform flight tests as part of a state service for obtaining airworthiness certificates. The pilot had previously completed flight tests for three Cessna-172 aircraft and three additional private aircraft. Following these operations, at 03:31 local time, the pilot departed in an amphibious aircraft, a Flying fish with registration RA-2961G. There were four people on board the aircraft during this final flight. Shortly after takeoff, at 03:32:09, the pilot established contact with the Khabarovsk Air Traffic Control Center to report the departure from Kalinka.
