On March 8, 2022, a Kazachok 07 autogyro, registration RA-0283A, was involved in a fatal accident in the area of the Potanino settlement within the Leningrad Oblast. The aircraft was being operated for training purposes by an authorized representative and an invited pilot at the time of the event.
Because the aircraft lacked objective onboard control equipment, investigators relied on witness testimonies and inspections of aircraft components to reconstruct the flight history. The aircraft had recently been transported by road to the Velsky district in late February 2022 following a sale agreement between the manufacturer and a buyer.
Prior to the accident, the manufacturer had personally prepared the RA-0283A for flight and conducted several flights with the buyer's representative. Following the transfer of the aircraft and documentation on March 5, 2022, the crew continued flight operations for training purposes.
During the flight, the aircraft experienced a structural failure in mid-air. The investigation concluded that the rotor blades made contact with the tail assembly and the propeller, leading to the destruction of the aircraft.
