On September 21, 2020, a Kedr amphibious aircraft, registration RA-1549G, was involved in an aviation accident in the area of the Ugut settlement, approximately 100 km south of Surgut. The flight was part of a trip from Lake Vysnglor back to an artificial reservoir near Zayachiy for the purpose of fishing.
Prior to the flight, the pilot-in-command performed a pre-flight inspection and noted that approximately 65 liters of AI-95 gasoline remained in the fuel tanks. The aircraft had been previously prepared and refueled by a qualified technician at the Zayachiy reservoir the previous day.
During the takeoff attempt, the aircraft encountered wind conditions near the maximum allowable limits and significant wave height. The pilot attempted the takeoff with the flaps set at 30 degrees, a configuration that did not align with the flight manual requirements for the prevailing conditions.
As the takeoff run progressed, the right wing console and right float remained submerged in the water while facing a strong crosswind from the left. This led to a collision between the aircraft and the water surface shortly after takeoff.
