What happened
On August 1, 2018, the pilot, who was also the owner of the aircraft, prepared for a scheduled flight from Serpukhov (Drakino) airfield to Yaroslavl (Karachikha) airfield. The pilot intended to fly with one passenger. The pilot arrived at the airfield at approximately 07:30. Because the airfield lacked a medical professional, the pilot took responsibility for his own medical clearance in accordance with applicable regulations.
Prior to the flight, the pilot obtained meteorological information via the internet from Windy.com. A flight plan request for VFR operations had been submitted to Air Traffic Control on July 30, 2018, and the pilot received takeoff clearance from the airfield's information dispatcher at 10:45 MSK.
At 08:30, the pilot performed engine starts and testing. Following this, at 08:50, the pilot restarted the engines and taxied the aircraft type to the runway for departure.
