On August 4, 2024, a pilot planned a visual flight rules (VFR) flight in class G airspace. The intended route was from Pervushino airfield to a landing area near Atamanovka in the Karay/del district, Republic of Bashkortostan, and back. While the submitted flight plan listed a Sport Star aircraft, the flight was actually conducted using the Mermeid aircraft, registration RA-1023G.
The pilot arrived at Pervushino airfield at 10:00 and refueled the RA-1023G with 50 liters of AI-95 gasoline. The pilot performed the pre-flight inspection independently and obtained meteorological information via the internet. No injuries or fatalities were reported during the event.
The incident took place in the water area of the Pavlovsk Reservoir. During the takeoff run on the water surface, the aircraft encountered crosswind conditions.
