On September 1, 2016, a Blanik-M aircraft, registration RA-1152G, was scheduled for a training flight in class G airspace. The pilot arrived at the Turinskaya Sloboda airfield one hour prior to takeoff. No flight plan had been submitted for the mission, and the aircraft was not refueled following the pilot's independent pre-flight inspection.
At approximately 13:00, the captain initiated takeoff under visual flight rules (VFR) based on the prevailing weather conditions. Because no medical professional was available at the airfield, the captain exercised the authority to permit the flight without a formal pre-flight medical examination.
During the climb phase, the aircraft reached an altitude of approximately 40 meters and a distance of 560 meters from the eastern end of the runway. At this point, the aircraft entered a descent characterized by a right bank of 75 to 80 degrees and an angle of attack exceeding 60 degrees, resulting in a collision with the ground.
The impact destroyed the aircraft, though no fire occurred during the accident. The pilot sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
