On September 13, 2021, a PZL-101A aircraft, registration RA-2388G, was engaged in an aerial chemical treatment mission for sunflower desiccation. The flight was part of a verbal agreement to apply the pesticide 'Diquat' to fields near the village of Sokolovka in the Prokhorovsky district of the Belgorod region.
The flight was scheduled to operate under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) within airspace classes 'C' and 'G'. The planned route involved traveling from Tomarovka to the Prokhorovka site and back. An IFR flight permit for the flight, identified as PZ01, was issued by the Regional Center of the Air Traffic Management System (Moscow) at 07:16 on the day of the accident.
The aircraft was operating for a private individual. Prior to the flight, the captain did not undergo a medical examination, a practice permitted under FAP-128 when flying from locations without authorized medical professionals, provided the captain authorizes the crew to fly.
The aircraft crashed between the villages of Bekhteevka and Sokolovka. The accident resulted in one fatality.
