On April 30, 2023, a C-172N aircraft, registered as RA-2038G, was scheduled for an IFR flight from City Airport to the Novosibirsk Reservoir area and back. The pilot-in-command had submitted an IFR flight plan for the mission involving three passengers, though the pilot later stated the flight was actually conducted without passengers.
Prior to departure, the pilot performed standard pre-flight procedures, including an external inspection and checks of fuel and oil levels. An engine run-up was completed for five minutes. The pilot did not request a weather briefing from the Novosibirsk (Tolmazovo) Meteorological Center before the flight.
At 08:27, the pilot requested takeoff clearance from the Novosibirsk-Krug approach control. The aircraft taxied to the runway with a heading of 17°.
During the takeoff and climb phase, the aircraft experienced a stall. This resulted in a collision with trees and the ground. There were no injuries reported following the incident.
