What happened
On October 31, 2015, a Ptynets-2 aircraft, registration RA-0347A, was conducting a search flight to locate a missing herd of domestic reindeer. The flight was operated for the purpose of locating livestock in the area of coordinates 69°51.271' N, 108°00.385' E. The flight plan, established on October 30, 2015, involved a route departing from Olenek Airport, traveling to the specified search coordinates, and returning to Olenek Airport.
At the time of the accident, the aircraft was carrying the pilot and one passenger, an employee of the Oleneksky MUP enterprise. According to testimony from the passenger, the aircraft was initially flying above the cloud layer. As the pilot approached the designated search area, the decision was made to descend through a gap in the clouds. During this descent, the aircraft struck the slope of a hill.
