On June 5, 2025, a flight was conducted from the village of Baibayev in the Volgograd region to the village of Novorepnoe in the Yershovsky district of the Saratov region. The pilot of the SP-30AC, registration RA-0190A, operated the aircraft in Class G airspace without submitting a flight plan or notifying air traffic control authorities.
The pilot, who holds a commercial pilot certificate and the authority to perform aircraft maintenance, prepared the aircraft for flight independently without formal documentation. After reviewing weather conditions online, the pilot proceeded under visual flight rules (VFR). The flight departed at 07:00, and no aircraft system failures were reported during the transit.
An investigation into the pilot's credentials determined that while the pilot's medical certificate was valid until April 5, 2027, the required qualification check for piloting skills had expired. According to regulations, a pilot certificate holder may not perform the functions of a captain on a single-pilot aircraft if they have not undergone a qualification check by a flight instructor within the preceding 24 months.
