On June 16, 2018, an EEVs SP-41 helicopter, registration RA-1757G, departed from the village of Panfilovo for a scheduled training flight. The flight plan, which included a route between Panfilovo and Gelion, had been submitted to the Novosibirsk Air Traffic Control Center the previous day. The pilot had received authorization for instrument flight procedures prior to departure.
The pilot and passenger arrived at Panfilovo at 09:00 on the day of the accident. Following the arrival, the pilot conducted a pre-flight inspection and maintenance of the aircraft RA-1757G independently. No refueling was performed prior to the mission. While a pre-flight medical examination was not conducted, the pilot determined that weather conditions were suitable for the planned flight.
The aircraft departed Panfilovo at 14:43. At 14:52, the pilot reported entering the area of Gelion to the Barneul airport dispatcher. The flight was later reported as completed via telephone to the Barneul dispatcher at 16:27.
The accident occurred in the vicinity of the Gelion settlement, resulting in two fatalities, including the pilot.
