On September 12, 2020, at approximately 13:33, a SpSt aircraft with registration RA-2568G departed from the Chernoglovka airfield for a special purpose flight. The aircraft was occupied by the pilot-in-command and one passenger.
During the investigation, it was noted that the pilot-in-command prepared for the flight independently. Due to a lack of available documentation, investigators were unable to verify the aircraft's takeoff weight, center of gravity, or the amount of fuel on board at the time of departure.
At approximately 13:42, the aircraft collided with the surface of a water-filled sand quarry in the area of the village of Dushonovo. The accident resulted in two fatalities.
Technical inspections revealed that the aircraft did not possess a certificate of airworthiness. Furthermore, no flight or technical documentation was available to confirm the scope or completion of periodic maintenance, or to verify the operating hours of the engine and components.
