On June 11, 2020, at 17:39, the pilot-in-command of an X-32 "MIKS-3", registration RA-0643G, departed from an airfield in Panino, Spassky District, Ryazan Region. The aircraft was equipped with ultra-low volume, fine-drop spraying equipment and had been refueled with 40 liters of AI-95 gasoline prior to takeoff.
The flight was intended to land at a designated area near the village of Zheludevo in the Shilovsky District, which had been prepared by employees of LLC "Zheludevo" for agricultural refueling operations. The pilot landed at the site at 18:03. Following the landing, the pilot and the general director of LLC "Zheludevo" inspected the designated agricultural fields and nearby obstacles.
Records indicate the pilot had not submitted an ICAO flight plan to air traffic control, as the flight was planned within class G airspace. While the pilot did not undergo a pre-flight medical examination, this was consistent with local regulations for flights departing from landing areas without medical personnel. The pilot had last flown on June 6, 2020, and reported no health issues prior to the flight.
The incident resulted in one fatality.
