On July 16, 2022, at approximately 07:00, a Yakovlev Yak-32, registration RA-01SB4G, departed from Panino in the Ryazan region for a flight involving the village of Troitsa and the town of Spassk-Ryazansky. The flight was intended for the benefit of a company and was conducted in airspace class G. No flight permits had been issued for this flight by the regional Air Traffic Services center.
The pilot-in-command was performing a training maneuver involving a simulated landing on a straight section of asphalt road near Krasilnikov. The aircraft was configured with flaps extended to 20 and then 40 degrees, descending at approximately 90 to 100 km/h. The pilot had selected the site for training purposes, having previously performed similar approaches during both instructor-led and solo flights.
As the aircraft approached the altitude required for leveling, the pilot observed cross wires from overhead power lines that had previously been obscured by sunlight. Despite an attempt to pull the control stick back, the aircraft collided with the overhead power lines at a speed of approximately 85 km/h. The impact caused the aircraft to shake violently.
Upon touchdown of the main landing gear, the aircraft experienced a left turn of approximately 20 to 30 degrees, accompanied by a right roll and a slight yaw of the nose landing gear. There were no injuries reported in the accident. The aircraft's engine and systems were reported to be operating normally prior to the collision.
