What happened

During an ILS approach near the middle marker, the aircraft struck the upper portions of trees located along the approach path. Witnesses reported hearing the aircraft strike the vegetation, noting a rhythmic sound as the plane continued its descent. Observers also noted that the aircraft followed a curved, descending trajectory before ultimately impacting the ground. At the time of the incident, visibility at the airport was approximately 1/2 mile.

Following the impact, investigators located debris, including a portion of the right propeller and various airframe components, scattered along the path where the aircraft had encountered the trees. The trees involved in the collision were estimated to be between 30 and 60 feet in height, with visible damage or fresh breaks found on the upper limbs.
