On a mission traveling from Tobalaba to Concepción, a twin-engine aircraft was transporting five specialists from Santo Tomás University. The group was tasked with inspecting various facilities in the Concepción region following the earthquake that occurred on 27 February 2010.

During the descent toward Concepción-Carriel Sur Airport, the aircraft encountered adverse weather conditions. While navigating through the area, the plane struck the tops of trees and crashed into a forested region situated approximately 20 km north of the airport, in the vicinity of Tomé. The impact resulted in six fatalities, with no survivors among the crew and passengers.
