What happened

A private flight traveling from Goiânia to Ribeirão Preto ended in a fatal accident when its twin-engine aircraft entered an uncontrolled descent. The flight was carrying two pilots and four passengers at the time of the incident. Shortly after receiving clearance from the Brasilía Control Center, the aircraft reached an altitude of 18,000 feet. During this phase of flight, the pilot contacted air traffic control to report that the aircraft was encountering severe turbulence and difficult weather conditions.

Following this report, the aircraft lost stability and descended uncontrollably, eventually impacting a sugarcane field in the vicinity of Água Comprida. The force of the impact and a subsequent fire caused the total destruction of the airframe. There were six fatalities recorded, as all occupants on board perished in the crash.
