What happened
A charter flight consisting of one pilot and five passengers departed from Salzburg, bound for Altenrhein Airport in St. Gallen. During the arrival phase, the pilot encountered challenging weather conditions characterized by low visibility. Because the runway could not be identified, the pilot decided to abort the initial approach and performed a go-around.
Following the missed approach, the flight was cleared to divert to Friedrichshafen-Bodensee Airport. Shortly after reaching the vicinity of the diversion airport, the twin engine aircraft was on its final approach when it experienced a stall. The aircraft subsequently crashed into a field situated just before the runway threshold. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the plane and six fatalities.
