What happened
On 28 July 2006, a Cessna T210K, registration ZS-MVS, was conducting a domestic charter flight from Kimberley Aerodrome to Bloemfontein Aerodrome. The flight was carrying a pilot and one passenger. During the landing sequence at Bloemfontein, the pilot performed a standard approach and confirmed via cockpit indicators that the undercarriage was securely extended.
Upon touchdown on the main landing gear, the pilot began releasing back pressure on the control column to transition the nose wheel to the ground. During this maneuver, the pilot observed the nose of the aircraft dropping excessively and felt the propeller make contact with the runway surface. Although the pilot attempted to correct the attitude by applying back pressure to lift the nose, the nose landing gear eventually collapsed fully during the landing roll. There were no injuries to the occupants, though the aircraft suffered damage to the propeller and the undercarriage.
