What happened
During a positioning flight approaching Mombasa-Moi Airport, the aircraft experienced a simultaneous failure of both engines. In an effort to manage the emergency, the crew attempted to perform an unplanned landing. During this maneuver, the aircraft type impacted several trees before coming to rest in a crash landing approximately 18 km away from the airport, situated near a road.
As a result of the impact, there were 2 injuries recorded among the flight crew. The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss.
Findings
Investigations into the incident determined that the primary reason for the dual engine failure was fuel exhaustion during the approach phase.
