Accident Details
On 10 April 2025 at 10:20 local time, a Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter, registration HB-ZWF, was involved in an accident at Petersgrat (LSVP), Switzerland. The flight was conducted under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and was a training operation. The helicopter had departed from Bern Airport (LSZB) with Bern as its destination. During landing on the glacier, the helicopter tipped onto its right side.
Aircraft and Occupants
The helicopter was a Bell Helicopter Textron Canada B505 Jet Ranger X, registered as HB-ZWF. The owner was Centaurium Aviation AG, based in Grenchen, and the operator was Mountain Flyers 80 Ltd., based in Belp. On board were two crew members and one passenger. According to the preliminary report, one crew member and the passenger sustained serious injuries. One crew member was not injured. No third parties were involved.
Damage
The aircraft suffered severe damage. No third-party damage occurred.
Investigation
The Swiss Safety Investigation Board (SUST) opened an investigation into the accident. As of the preliminary report dated 15 April 2025, no probable cause has been determined.
