What happened
A charter flight operating from London-Heathrow to Stavanger was en route to Norway for a week-long educational trip when the accident occurred. The aircraft was transporting 34 British students, aged between 13 and 16, along with two teachers. During the descent toward the destination, the plane impacted the slope of Mt Holteheia, situated approximately 54 km northeast of Stavanger.
The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were no survivors among the passengers or the crew members on board.
Findings
Official investigations concluded that the accident occurred because the aircraft deviated from its intended flight path for reasons that remain undetermined.
