Few minutes after takeoff from Tennant Creek, the right propeller separated from the engine. As the pilot was unable to maintain a safe altitude, he attempted an emergency landing when the airplane crash landed close to a road some 56 km north of Tennant Creek, bursting into flames. All three occupants escaped uninjured while the airplane was destroyed by fire. Crew: P/O F. G. Anderson. Passengers: F/O C. L. Karutz, Sgt McNamara.
