On July 1, 1959, at about 1752, a Martin B-26C operated by the Continental Can Company, Inc., crashed near Marion, Ohio. The aircraft, registered N 1502, was flying from Chicago, Illinois, to Baltimore, Maryland. All ten occupants—two company pilots and eight company executives—were killed. The aircraft dived violently into the ground shortly after traversing an area of pronounced thunderstorm activity.
