Asky Airlines to launch long-haul service with Boeing 787s by 2028
Togo's Asky Airlines plans to begin long-haul flights in late 2027 or early 2028, initially using two Boeing 787s and later a third, supplied through shareholder Ethiopian Airlines. The carrier also intends to build a $100 million maintenance centre at Lomé with Ethiopian Airlines.

Asky Airlines plans to start long-haul flights at the end of 2027 or the start of 2028, the newspaper Togo Matin reports. The Togolese carrier will begin with two Boeing 787s and add a third later. Ethiopian Airlines, a shareholder and strategic partner of Asky, will provide the jets. High costs and limited aircraft availability delayed the launch.
Asky and Ethiopian Airlines also plan a maintenance centre at the carrier's home airport in Lomé. Investment in the facility is put at 100 million US dollars, about 85 million euros. Togo's government has provided a plot of land for the project, and Boeing has completed a feasibility study. The centre is intended to serve other carriers in West and Central Africa as well, and is expected to be fully operational at the end of 2028.
