Boeing 737 MAX output increase held back by wing production
Boeing's push to raise 737 MAX production is being slowed by wing manufacturing at Renton, its chief executive said, with the company still working to stabilise output at 47 aircraft a month.
Boeing chief executive Kelly Ortberg says wing manufacturing at the company's Renton, Washington facility is holding back its effort to lift 737 MAX production.
Speaking on September 16, Ortberg said Boeing is working to steady output at 47 aircraft per month. Getting there from 42 has taken longer than the company expected.
The delay matters because Boeing's stated target is 52 aircraft per month, with as many as 63 aircraft a month raised as a longer-term possibility.
