Condor and American Airlines announce interline agreement

Condor and American Airlines have signed an interline agreement covering travel between Europe, the United States and Canada. The German carrier said the deal is meant to widen connection options for passengers on both sides of the Atlantic.

Condor passengers get access to American's route network through the North American gateways Condor serves: Boston, New York JFK, Chicago and Los Angeles. American's customers can connect through Frankfurt and Munich to Condor destinations in Europe and beyond.

The airlines said the agreement covers a single ticket for an itinerary across both carriers, unified check-in for the whole journey, and checked bags tagged through to the final destination, so passengers do not need to recheck them at connecting points. Connections are coordinated to make transfers smoother.

A Condor executive quoted in the announcement said American's network complements Condor's and improves its North American connectivity, and that the partnership strengthens the airline's position in the transatlantic market. No start date was given, and the announcement did not specify how many additional city pairs or flights are involved.
