French Navy receives first Dassault Falcon 2000 Albatros maritime patrol aircraft
The French defense procurement agency DGA has delivered the first two Dassault Falcon 2000 LXS Albatros aircraft to the French Navy, with twelve on order to replace older Falcon 50M and Gardian types.
The French defense procurement agency DGA has handed the first two Dassault Falcon 2000 LXS Albatros aircraft to the French Navy. Deliveries took place on July 27 and 31. The aircraft are assigned to Flotilla 24F at Lann-Bihoué.
France has ordered twelve Albatros to replace eight Falcon 50M Surmar and five Falcon 200 Gardian aircraft. The new type carries a Thales SearchMaster AESA radar and a Safran Euroflir 410 system, and has a range of 7400 kilometers. A third example is expected at the end of 2026, followed by two deliveries per year until 2031.
