Lufthansa Technik and Japan Airlines extend Boeing 787 component deal
Lufthansa Technik and Japan Airlines have extended their Boeing 787 component supply agreement by at least five years, with the contract running up to 2036 and covering as many as 67 Dreamliners.

Lufthansa Technik and Japan Airlines have extended their component supply agreement for the carrier's Boeing 787 fleet by at least five years. The contract runs until 2036 and covers up to 67 Dreamliners, with the scope widened to additional part numbers.
Under the Total Component Support arrangement, Lufthansa Technik handles maintenance, reliability management and logistics for a large number of components, and Japan Airlines gains access to the German company's worldwide spare parts pool.
The two also agreed an exclusive five-year contract for work on the thrust reversers and inlet cowls of the GEnx-1B engines that power the Boeing 787. Lufthansa Technik Shenzhen will carry out that work. The companies have worked together for close to 20 years.
