NBAA names Dan Hubbard interim lead as CEO Ed Bolen takes medical leave

The National Business Aviation Association has put Dan Hubbard in day-to-day charge of the organisation while its president and CEO, Ed Bolen, takes a leave of absence for cancer treatment. The association announced the change on 18 September.

Hubbard, senior vice-president of communications since 2008, becomes interim chief operating officer and has been designated the group's day-to-day lead. NBAA did not give details of Bolen's condition or his treatment.

Bolen has led the association since 2004. Board chair John Witzig said the group wishes him a full recovery as he takes the time he needs to focus on his health.

Hubbard is a 22-year veteran of the association. According to NBAA, he has been closely involved in its external affairs, partnerships and advocacy work in the United States and internationally. Hubbard said he was honoured to step in and lead the team, adding that the association is well positioned to keep operating and serving its members.

The announcement comes about a month before NBAA's annual Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition opens in Las Vegas.

NBAA also said on 18 September that Heidi Williams, who previously led its regulatory policy work, is now senior vice-president of operations, a position held by Douglas Carr, who retired in July.
