Secret Service suspends three staff over leak on Trump's Boeing 747-8
Three US Secret Service employees have been placed on leave amid an internal probe into a possible leak of information about security concerns tied to Donald Trump's new Boeing 747-8.
The US Secret Service has suspended three staff members while it investigates suspected misconduct. A senior agency spokesperson is among those affected, according to the New York Times.
The case ties into an inquiry over a possible disclosure of internal information. Media reports had said the Secret Service discussed security concerns about a Boeing 747-8 donated by Qatar and hastily converted for use as a presidential aircraft.
During a flight to a NATO summit in Turkey at the end of July, the aircraft reportedly lacked some of the protective systems fitted to the existing Air Force One fleet. The FBI later questioned Secret Service agents over possible information leaks connected to that report.
