Turkish Airlines places order for up to 150 Boeing 737 MAX jets
Turkish Airlines has agreed to buy 100 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with options covering up to 50 more, in its biggest single-aisle purchase to date.

Turkish Airlines has signed for 100 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and taken options on as many as 50 additional units, according to Boeing. The order was finalised this week after talks that started in 2025. No financial terms were released.
The deal is the carrier's largest single-aisle commitment to the US manufacturer so far. It also carries substitution rights for the 737 MAX 10, the biggest member of the MAX family, which would let Turkish Airlines move to higher seating capacity if it chooses.
A statement from the airline's chairman of the board and executive committee, Murat Şeker, described the agreement as a further step in the growth of the carrier's fleet, adding that the incoming MAX aircraft would give its Istanbul-based network more efficiency and flexibility.
Turkish Airlines flies a mix of Boeing and Airbus types. Its Boeing fleet covers the 737 MAX, the 787 Dreamliner, the 777, the 737 NextGen and the 777F. The carrier placed an order last year for up to 75 more Dreamliners.
