The National Transportation Safety Board has directed the Federal Aviation Administration to require Robinson Helicopter to address root causes of mast-rocking vibrations in R44 helicopters.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued a safety recommendation, designated A-11-082, addressed to the Federal Aviation Administration. This recommendation urges the FAA to require Robinson Helicopter to resolve the root cause of mast-rocking vibration within the main rotor assembly. The goal is to ensure that all applicable R44 helicopters are free of excessive vibrations across all flight regimes, in compliance with 14 Code of Federal Regulations Section 27.251 regarding vibration standards. This directive aims to enhance safety by eliminating hazardous vibration levels identified in these specific aircraft models.
