Safety recommendation

The National Transportation Safety Board has directed the Federal Aviation Administration to update its interagency agreement with the National Weather Service to incorporate new safety roles.

In Safety Recommendation WPR10GA113, designated as A-14-015, the National Transportation Safety Board has issued a directive to the Federal Aviation Administration. The recommendation urges the FAA to work in cooperation with the National Weather Service to revise the existing Interagency Agreement between the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration/National Weather Service. This revision should address the center weather service units and their accompanying statement of work, if necessary. The goal is to add new responsibilities for center weather service unit personnel in response to Safety Recommendations A-14-17 and/or A-14-18 issued to the National Weather Service. These added duties are intended to function alongside the other responsibilities currently performed by the National Weather Service under the current agreement framework.
