The National Transportation Safety Board has directed the Federal Aviation Administration to conduct a comprehensive audit of its oversight of certificates held by operators owned by HoTH, Inc.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued safety recommendation A-14-023 to the Federal Aviation Administration. This directive requires the FAA to conduct a comprehensive audit of its oversight of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 135 and Part 121 certificates held by operators owned by HoTH, Inc. The NTSB mandates that permanent corrective action be implemented for all adverse findings resulting from this review. To ensure objectivity, the audit must be conducted by a team of inspectors from outside Alaska. The scope of the investigation includes a detailed review of inspector qualifications, staff turnover, and the working relationships between the FAA and the operators owned by HoTH, Inc. Additionally, the audit will assess workload to determine whether current staffing levels are sufficient for effective oversight.
