The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued a new safety recommendation, designated as A-14-078, under investigation number DCA13MA133. This directive is addressed to the Federal Aviation Administration and calls for an expansion of the current guidance available in Federal Aviation Administration Order 7110.65, titled Air Traffic Control. The specific objective of this recommendation is to further define meteorological aerodrome report pertinent remarks within that order. The NTSB has identified a need for clearer definitions in this area of air traffic control procedures to ensure consistent application and understanding by relevant personnel.
